Abounding Grace Card Kit

Hello! We’re so excited that you’re here and hope that you are ready to have some fun as we create bespoke greeting cards together!

One thing to keep in mind before we get started… this is merely a guide to assemble the card in a way that resembles the pictured version. We encourage you to unleash your creativity and explore alternative layouts, add your own touches (such as inking, embossing, glitter, etc) and make this project reflect your own style or the future recipient’s personality.

Are you ready to bring this work of art to life? Let’s get started!

How to Assemble the Cards in this Kit…

Things You’ll Need:

Additional Supplies (Optional):
These items are purely optional and simply allow you to take these cards to the next level!

  • Adhesive foam pieces
  • Ink pads and brushes for shading
  • Glitter
  • Accents such as rhinestones, pearls, etc.
  • Embossing folders

Let’s Get Started!

Step 1:
Align the strip of striped patterned paper along the long left edge of the card front. Adhere with glue.

Align the strip of solid paper along the right long edge of the card front. Adhere with glue.

Give it some definition: Use a tan ink pad and brush to lightly shade the edges of the striped patterned paper piece before adhering to give your card a vintage appearance.

Step 2:
Place the pink ribbed strip horizontally across both the solid and patterned papers near the bottom of the card front. Align the top edge of the pink ribbed strip about 1 inch from the bottom of the card front. Adhere with glue and trim any overhang with scissors
.

Take it one step further: Add small adhesive pearls or tiny rhinestones to the ribbed piece after adhering.

Step 3:
Gently fold the ends of the ribbed bow piece towards the center so that it forms two bow-like loops. Adhere the ends in the narrow center of the bow piece with a small amount of glue.

Take the non-ribbed knot piece and wrap it around the center of the looped bow you just created to form a small knot. Adhere with a small amount of glue.

How to make it “pop”: For a 3-D effect, try to refrain from creasing and flattening the loops of the bow.

Step 4:
Take the bow piece you just assembled and glue it along the ribbed piece, centered within the striped paper area.

Align the planter piece and the greenery piece just above the pink ribbed strip, centering both pieces within the solid colored area of the card front. Adhere with glue.

Helpful tip: Place small dots of glue on the backside of each leaf and a few dots along the stems to adhere this delicate piece.

Step 5:
Place one 4-petal flower piece on top of one 5-petal, offsetting the two pieces slightly so that the petals only slightly overlap to form a full-looking flower. Adhere with a small amount of glue. Repeat for the remaining flower petal pieces to create a total of three flowers.

Place one green bud piece on top of pair of petals, aligning the flat edge with the flat bottom edge of the flower. Adhere with a small amount of glue. Repeat for the remaining two pairs of petals.

Helpful tip: Use craft tweezers to make picking up and placing these tiny pieces a little bit easier!

Add some sparkle: Lightly brush liquid glue over the flower petals and sprinkle pink glitter over them before adhering. Allow to dry completely before continuing.

Step 6:
Place the three assembled flowers with the petals pointing upwards, anywhere you’d like on the greenery piece. Adhere with a small amount of glue.

Make it lifelike: Don’t worry about symmetry or even spacing when placing the flowers! Nature is wild, so it’s okay to place flowers anywhere along the greenery piece!

Step 7:
If you ordered sentiments with your card kit, now’s the time to add one to your card! Apply glue to the back of the sentiment piece and position it near the top left quadrant of the card front. Press to adhere.

If you ordered adhesive foam pieces… do not glue the sentiment down. Instead, peel the backing off one side of each adhesive foam piece and attach it to the back of the sentiment. Remove the remaining backings and attach the sentiment to the card.

Voila! You’ve just created your own unique version of our Abounding Grace greeting card that is truly one-of-a-kind and ready to be given or sent to friends and family.
